Time-of-Use Evaluation
Slash your energy costs by escaping On-Peak rates during peak business hours year-round. Discover how this system affects your business with real numbers based on your usage and current billing.
If your operations run during regular business hours, you’re almost certainly paying the highest possible rate: On-Peak.
Some businesses may be on a tiered rate plan, paying one rate up to a certain threshold and a higher rate above it. An analysis may find that you could be spending more than necessary. There’s a smarter way to manage your energy costs
There’s a smarter way to manage your energy costs
Our Energy Specialists can review your usage, inform you of options, and help you transition from the costly TOU structure to the Ontario Electricity Market Price (OEMP) — the wholesale rate typically reserved for Ontario’s largest electricity consumers.

Are You Paying the Lowest Rate Possible?
If your business uses less than 250,000 kWh per year, you’re likely paying Time-of-Use (TOU) rates. That translates to constantly juggling on-peak, mid-peak, and off-peak hours.
Does your business operate during regular hours? You’re likely stuck on the On-Peak price.

OEMP Explained
Businesses that use less than 300,000 kilowatt-hours per year pay three rates and see their usage broken down into peak, mid-peak and off-peak time-of-use, with different prices for each peak. This program is called the Regulated Price Plan, or RPP, which is administered by your local utility and changed semi-annually.
Chances are, like most businesses, you are open during regular business hours and paying the highest possible rates. If you are using an equal amount of Peak, Mid Peak, and Off Peak, your average price before any further increases would be approximately 15.1 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Large consumers, such as factories and processing plants, pay two rates as opposed to three. The first rate is the Ontario Electricity Market Price, or OEMP. The second rate is the Global Adjustment or GA price that helps cover other costs of electricity supply in Ontario. The two rates are inversely proportional; that is, when one goes up, the other goes down – if OEMP rises, GA falls.
Ontario Energy Solutions OEMP+ Product gives businesses direct access to wholesale electricity pricing for a small administrative fee.
Switch to OEMP Plus and Pay What the Big Users Pay — Without the Commitment
